Mission.
Emerging Limerick Filmmakers is a home for young filmmakers in Limerick that its members with the opportunity to grow and develop as storytellers in the medium of film.
Cinema is sacred. It can change the way people see the world, change the way people think. Now more than ever we need brave voices able to shape the stories that help us see with fresh eyes.
ELF fosters a community of young filmmakers, supporting creative projects with ambition and energy. We operate a respectful, playful, project-led methodology. Our members are expected to perform as part of a strong, coherent team of filmmakers in various roles. We aim for excellence in all our activities in a safe and supportive, if sometimes challenging, environment. The results are clear, ELF’s members have won multiple awards and our members have gone on to pursue careers in the screen sector.
We deliver a deep and engaging programme, led by our members.

How It Works.
Members meet every week to engage with filmmaking topics, to develop ongoing productions and to critically engage with short films.
ELF aims to produce 6 ‘mainline’ productions a year, with additional projects including the creation of short films, the recording of live performances and other opportunities to apply filmmaking skills. Productions vary in scale depending on the project, but ELF is an organisation that encourages risk-taking and potential failure, seeing that as the best road to success.
Projects are selected and lead by members. Our focus is entirely on film crew roles, but ELF loves to collaborate with other youth arts organisations and with talented young people in different fields to realise new projects.
